Giclee Prints
My paintings are available in giclee (pronounced jee clay) prints. What is a giclee print?
Giclee is a French word meaning "squirt" or "spray". Giclee print is produced with the most accurate prints possible, using fade resistant, archival grade inks on fine art media such as canvas and art papers. This is usually the method of choice for both artists and photographers. Prints have coating agents so they can last for many years. Where I order, they guarantee prints to last for 75 years or more.
Giclee prints can be customised and embellished. How is this done? I use acrylic paints and gel medium to paint over areas of prints to enhance and add brush strokes. Embellishing can make a giclee print look like an original, therefore, it's really one-of-a-kind. Giclees can be ordered in various sizes and can also be framed. They come with Certificate of Authenticity, numbered and signed. On the right are photos of a giclee print on gallery-wrapped canvas, no frame but ready to hang.
